In this incredible tour of India, you will get the chance to visit many Forts and Palaces. This tour brings the quintessence of India to you, through the journey covering the diverse tourist destinations. You will visit Mumbai, Bhavnagar, Lothal, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Pushkar, Jaipur, Agra, Gwalior, Orchha, Delhi and see many historical places.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Mumbai

 
Arrive Mumbai.
Airport Transfer

Traditional welcome on arrival to Mumbai International Airport and transfer to hotel.


Day 2 - Bhavnagar

 
Mumbai – Bhavnagar.
Relaxation

Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is free for you to relax.

Commercial Flight

In the afternoon transfer to domestic airport to catch a flight to Bhavnagar, a sprawling industrial city and an important trading post for cotton products.

Sightseeing

Late in the evening, visit the Takhteshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is built on a small hillock overlooking the city and provides great views of the city and the Gulf of Cambay. Overnight at hotel.

On arrival at Bhavnagar, check into the hotel.


Day 3 - Bhavnagar

 
Bhavnagar – Palitana - Lothal (220 kms).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will leave for a full day guided excursion to Palitana, situated 50-km southwest of Bhavnagar. Palithana is famous for its 863 Jain temples mounted on hills.

Day 4 - Ahmedabad

 
Lothal - Ahmedabad (85 kms / 1.5 hrs).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, there is a half-day guided tour of the excavations at the ancient Indus City of Lothal. Afternoon drive to Ahmedabad. The city of Ahmed Shah is known for its rich past and its association with Mahatma Gandhi. The city offers the traveler a unique style of architecture - a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles (Indo-Saracenic style of architecture). On arrival check into hotel.

Day 5 - Ahmedabad

 
Sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel. A full day guided tour of Ahmedabad City. Visit Sabarmati Ashram, the tombs of Ahmed Shah and his queens, Jama Masjid, Dada Hari-Wav Step wells (one of the best in north India), and the Calico Museum of Textiles.

Day 6 - Udaipur

 
Ahmedabad – Modhera – Udaipur (370 kms / 6 hrs).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed to Modhera. Visit the Sun Temple that was built in 1026 A.D. The temple stands high on a plinth overlooking a deep stoned-steeped tank. Every inch of its edifice, both inside and outside, is magnificently carved with Gods, Goddesses, birds, beasts and flowers. After lunch, drive to Udaipur, the city of lakes. Udaipur is The City of Dawn, surrounded by the ancient Aravali Mountains and set on the edge of three lakes, is a brilliant kaleidoscope of narrow lanes flanked by bright stalls, gardens, lakes, palaces, and temples.

Shopping

Enjoy the evening on the banks of the Lake Pichola and spend your time exploring the narrow streets dotted with interesting shops.

Day 7 - Udaipur

 
Sightseeing

Breakfast. Followed by a full-day guided sightseeing tour of the city. The tour will inlclude the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon-ki-Bari, and an excursion to Eklingi, famous for its Jain temples.

Day 8 - Udaipur

 
Udaipur – Chittorgarh (112 kms / 2 hrs).

After breakfast, proceed to Chittorgarh, the well-established citadel and the capital of Mewar rulers.

Sightseeing

On arrival, you will check-in to the hotel to freshen up. Followed by a guided tour of the Chittorgarh Fort, which stands 180 meters high with each stone narrating its own story.

Day 9 - Rajasthan

 
Chittorgarh - Pushkar (205 kms / 4 hrs).
Sightseeing

Breakfast at the hotel. Then proceed to Pushkar. Visit the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma (in India), which is located in Pushkar - an important pilgrimage city for Hindus.

Day 10 - Jaipur

 
Pushkar – Jaipur (120 kms / 2 hrs).

Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to Jaipur- the Pink City of Rajasthan.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, transfer to the hotel to freshen up.

Sightseeing

Later, guided half-day city tour of Jaipur covering Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), City Palace, Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory).

Day 11 - Jaipur

 
Sightseeing

Enjoy a royal breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided excursion to the majestic Amber Fort - the erstwhile capital of the Kachwahas Rajputs before they moved to their newly built capital in Jaipur. This is the only fort where one can still arrive on elephants like the Maharajas used to.

Evening at leisure to enjoy the real charm of this royal city, allowing you to stroll through the local bazaars to see some handicrafts and artisans.

Day 12 - Agra

 
Jaipur – Agra (232 kms / 4.5 hrs).
Sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to Agra via Fatepur Sikri; a World Heritage Site. Assisted by a guide visit this world famous complex of monuments and temples built in a uniform architectural style.

After we will drive to Agra, the seat of the great Mughal rulers for ages. Agra is a treasure cove for all the tourists from India and abroad. Even though Agra is synonymous with the Taj, the city stands in testimony to the great amount of architectural activity of the Mughals.

Day 13 - Gwalior

 
Agra – Gwalior (120 kms).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will visit the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal of Agra is a monument built by emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, while the Agra Fort was built by Emperor Akbar. Built with red sandstone, the Fort is a mixture of the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture.

Day 14 - Gwalior

 
Gwalior – Orchha (120 kms / 2 hrs).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, a half-day guided programme of the Gwalior Fort built in the 15th century by Raja Mansingh Tomar on a hilltop that overlooks the city. Also within the fort premises are located the Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal, Teli-ka-Mandir, the Sas-Bahu temples and the chhatris. Late afternoon drive to Orchha.

Day 15 - Delhi

 
Orchha - Delhi.
Sightseeing

After breakfast, a half-day guided programme of Orchha. Orchha was the erstwhile capital city of the Bundela rulers. The town is steeped in history and is famous for its palaces and temples built in the 16th and 17th centuries. Visit Jahangir Mahal, Rajmahal and Phool Bagh.

In the afternoon, drive to Jhansi to catch a train to Delhi.

Day 16 - Delhi

 
Airport Transfer

After breakfast, depending on flight schedule transfer to Airport for flight to onward destination.
