Detailed Trip Description

The Tiger and Taj tour package offers the perfect combination of best things India has to offer: the Taj Mahal and the tigers. The tour package has been popular among many architecture enthusiasts, heritage aficionados, wildlife freaks, and tourists on the whole. The tour package takes you from the captivating capital city to the major wildlife destinations of Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh renowned for its tiger population and the smaller ones of Shivpuri and Bandipur. Then there are the cities of Jaipur, Gwalior, Orchha, and Khajuraho worth visiting for its rich cultural heritage, forts, palaces, and captivating customs. Last but not the least, we will visit the amazing city of Agra with its astonishing Taj Mahal to make the holiday unforgettable.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Delhi

 
Arrive Delhi.
Airport Transfer

Traditional welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 - Delhi

 
Historical and Educational Tours

After breakfast, there will be a guided tour of the historic city of Delhi; it is the city where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled this region and it has been built, destroyed, and re-built over seven times. The guided tour takes to the monuments that depict the different eras. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, and the Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - the "Father of the Nation."

In the afternoon, there will be a tour of New Delhi which includes the Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Bahai Temple, Qutab Minar, India Gate, the President's House, and a drive through Connaught Place.

In the evening, we will see the Son-et-Lumerie at Red Fort.

Day 3 - Jaipur

 
Delhi - Jaipur (265 kms/ 5 hrs).
Private Car Service

Breakfast. We will drive to Jaipur - the Pink City of Rajasthan.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, check into the hotel.

Sightseeing

Later, you will take a guided half-day city tour of Jaipur covering Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), City Palace, and Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory).

Day 4 - Jaipur

 
Food and Dining

Enjoy a royal breakfast at hotel.

Sightseeing

Then, there will be a guided excursion to the majestic Amber Fort, the erstwhile capital of the Kachwahas Rajputs before they moved to their newly built capital in Jaipur. This is the only fort where one can still arrive on an elephant just like the maharajas used to.

Shopping

Evening at leisure so you can enjoy the real charm of this royal city and stroll in the local bazaars to see handicrafts and artisans.

Day 5 - Jaipur

 
Jaipur – Ranthambore (155 kms / 3 hrs).
Hotel

Breakfast. We will drive to Ranthambore. On arrival check into the hotel.

Historical and Educational Tours

In the afternoon, we will visit the Ranthambore Fort.

Safari

After, you will then take a jeep safari into the park.

Day 6 - Rajasthan

 
Ranthambore (day excursion to Bundi & Tonk).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, there will be a day excursion to Tonk and Bundi. In Bundi, you will visit the Bundi palace, Raniji-ki-Baoli (Queen's step well), the Dhabhai Kund, and the Bhora-ji-ka-Kund. Tonk is an old town dating to the middle of the 17th century. It is famous for its Sunehri Kothi with its intricate mirror work and colourful medley of painted mosques, mansions, and colonial buildings.

You will return to Ranthambore. Overnight at hotel.


Day 7 - Agra

 
Ranthambore – Agra (275 kms / 6 hrs).
Sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel. Then, we will proceed to Agra via Fatepur Sikri, a World Heritage Site. Assisted by a guide, you will be able to visit this world famous complex of monuments and temples built in a uniform architectural style.

Day 8 - Gwalior

 
Agra – Gwalior (118 kms / 2.5 hrs).
Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will visit the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal of Agra is a monument built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and the Agra Fort was built by Emperor Akbar. Built with red sandstone, the Fort is a mixture of the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture.

Day 9 - Gwalior

 
Gwalior- Shivpuri (112 kms / 3 hrs).

After breakfast, there will be a half day guided tour of Gwalior which includes the Gwalior Fort, Teli-ka-Mandir, Sas-Bahu Mandir, Jai Vilas Palace, and Tansen’s Tomb.

Day 10 - Madhya Pradesh

 
Shivpuri- Chanderi- Orcha (270 kms / 6 hrs).

An early morning safari to Madhav National Park.

Sightseeing

After breakfast, there will be a guided sightseeing of Shivpuri summer capital of the Scindia rulers of Gwalior including Chhatris, Madhav Vilas Palace, Sakhya Sagar Boat Club, and Bhadaiya Kund. In the afternoon, we will drive to Orrcha and visit Chanderi, surrounded by hills, lakes, forests, and several monuments of Bundela Rajputs and Malwa Sultans.

Day 11 - Khajuraho

 
Orcha- Khajuraho (170 kms / 3 hrs).
Sightseeing

After breakfast a guided tour of Orrcha including Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, Chaturbhuj Temple, Laxminarayan Temple and Chhatris (Cenotaphs).

Day 12 - Khajuraho

 
Sightseeing

Breakfast followed by a guided tour of Chandela dynasty temples famous for their spectacular sculptures and carvings. Visit the Northern, Eastern and Southern group of temples.

Day 13 - Madhya Pradesh

 
Khajuraho- Bandhavgarh (237 kms / 5 hrs).
National Parks

After breakfast, you will be able to enjoy a leisurely drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. This is also known as the ‘white tiger country’. On arrival, you will check-in to the resort.

Day 14 - Madhya Pradesh

You will take an early morning jungle safari.

Day 15 - Madhya Pradesh

 
Bandhavgarh – Kanha (260 kms / 6 hrs).
Safari

After breakfast, we will drive to Kanha. On arrival, you will check into a jungle resort. You will then take a jungle safari for another chance to view the royal tiger and other wildlife. In the evening, you may visit the Bamni Dadar, near the National Park. This place is also known as the sunset point and the Park view is at it scenic best from this point. The grazing sambhar, barking deer, gaurs, and other animals make the ambience magical.

Day 16 - Raipur

 
Kanha – Raipur (220 kms / 4 hrs) – Chennai.

Early breakfast, then drive to Raipur to catch a flight to Chennai.

Day 17 - Bangalore

 
Chennai – Bangalore (flight) – Bandipur (170 kms / 4.5 hrs).
