Join Frank for a 10 day tour including some of Europe's imperial cities: Prague, Vienna and Salzburg. We'll spend time in historic Cesky Krumlov, learn about Jan Hus in Prague, savor elegant Vienna and Salzburg and end in lively Munich. The highlight is the Oberammergau Passion Play 2010.
Our journey begins with our flight across the Atlantic Ocean to Prague, Czech Republic. If you would like to arrive early, we are happy to arrange accommodations. Please note that flights are not included in the price, but can be added in 2009. Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more flying from the same departure point. (IF)
Upon arrival in Prague, we meet our tour leader and coach driver. A local guide will join us for a fascinating walking tour of Hradcany Castle, the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral and stroll across the famous Charles Bridge to reach the Old Town Square.

After breakfast this morning we begin with a visit to Bethlehem Chapel, where Jan Hus heralded in the teachings of the Reformation. We will also tour Church of the Virgin Mary and Týn Church.
Then we will visit the Old Jewish Cemetery and Museum including Pinkas Synagogue which houses children’s artwork from Theresienstadt
After some free time this afternoon a special treat awaits us this evening – a Czech folklore show including dinner with Czech specialties.

Today we travel south to Cesky Krumlov to savor this historic gem of a town with a walking tour. We’ll sample local home-cooked meals with Christian Czechs at their church, then go see handicrafts, made the traditional ways.
We will have some free time to explore this beautiful city before before dinner at our hotel this evening.

Today we drive to beautiful Vienna, full of gorgeous baroque architecture, charm and history. We will have a city tour of the major sights of the city, the Belvedere Palace, the elegant Kärntner Ring, St. Stefan's Cathedral, the Lippizaner Museum and more. Later we have the option to visit Schönbrunn Palace, the beautiful palace of the Hapsburgs, with lovely gardens.
We’ll dine at our hotel and this evening.
We can experience some of the special music Vienna has to offer, with many optional live music performances available. B/D
This morning we will enjoy a walking tour of Old Salzburg, visiting Mozart’s birthplace and strolling through Mirabell Gardens. We’ll tour the Salzburg Cathedral, the Getreidegasse, the market area, Peter’s Church and more.
This evening we will have a Mozart Concert during dinner at the famous St. Peter’s Restaurant. Seated in Baroque opulence, with candles and linen, we’ll savor the cuisine of Mozart’s day. Superb musicians play some of his most famous compositions to round out a great day in Austria.

We will have a beautiful drive en route to Bavaria, where we tour Neuschwanstein Castle, built for King Ludwig II. You’ve seen the pictures of this castle that inspired Disney, now we’ll experience its grandeur. We’ll then tour the Wieskirche, a historic Bavarian church, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will finish our exciting day with our arrival in Oberammergau, home to the world famous Passion Play, depicting the story of Christ, acted out for hundreds of years by the villagers.
We’ll check into our hotel and have a delicious dinner, followed by a stroll through the village. B/D
In 2010 we will be watching performance of the famous Passion Play, with excellent, pre-reserved seats. However, for 2008, 2009, there will still be lots to do and see. We start with a welcome and an escorted tour of the village by one of the Passion Play’s members. We will hear a talk on the Passion Play by a one of the play’s actors and hear their story of God’s faithfulness to their village. We’ll tour the theater and see the costumes, props, the Cross and even stand on the stage.
The rest of the day will be at leisure to shop or explore locally on our own.
We can meet some local Passion Play performers at a social time with live traditional folk music and local traditional handicrafts and cuisine samplers, Bavarian folk dancing lessons are also available. B/D
We’ll drive through Bavaria’s beautiful scenery to Munich.
We’ll enjoy a pleasant walking tour of Munich’s old town sites.
Then you have the afternoon free for shopping or independent sightseeing, or relaxing at our hotel.
This evening we finish our fun tour with a farewell dinner with classic Bavarian cuisine and a live Bavarian folk show.
We stay overnight in Munich’s city center. (B/D)
