The trip starts in Rio De Janeiro for a few days of sightseeing and then off to Iguaza Falls. A few more days in Buenos Aires is followed by a day in Lima and then Cuzco exploring Machu Picchu. Head back to Lima and then home. Airfare is included in the price of the trip.
Flight from Los Angeles to Rio De Janeiro
Your tour begins in the timeless city of Rio De Janeiro, the gateway city of Brazil. The first evening meet your fellow travelers at a welcome dinner in a fine Brazilian restaurant! (D)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Sugar Loaf. This tour begins with a panoramic drive through downtown Rio, passing by the Sambodrome, the Metropolitan Cathedral that is a modern cone shaped building with an internal diameter of 96 meters and height of 80 meters. You will also drive by the traditional Cinelândia square with all its historical buildings, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts.
You will then go by the neighborhood of Urca, one of the most charming neighborhoods in Rio with six squares and only 16 streets, where Parque do Aterro do Flamengo is located, one of the largest public spaces in the city.
Then you will arrive at the Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high and from where one can have a beautiful view from the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill.
From here, a second cable car will be taken up to the top of the hill, which is 395 meters higher to see the splendid view of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói.
In the evening enjoy a tour of “Rio by Night”. First you will have dinner at one of Rio's famous “Churrascarias” (a local steak house). This barbecue dinner is part of the Brazilian Folklore. After dinner you will proceed to one of the renowned Samba Show houses in Rio. Here you will witness the display of Carnival throughout the year with beautiful costumes, the rhythm of the typical “Samba School” and the diverse richness of the Brazilian culture. (B. D)
After breakfast, you will depart from the hotel and go through the traditional residential area of Cosme Velho to catch a train at the Corcovado railroad station for a spectacular journey through lush forests up to statue of Christ Redeemer, one of the most famous status in the world, which stands 38 meters high and 710 meters above the city, a place that will never leave your memory the rest of your life. Return on a panoramic road trip to the Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana Beaches. (B)
Following breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguazu Falls, where you will be transferred to your beautiful hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a walking tour of the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls for a panoramic view. Stroll around catwalks and admire the beauty and abundance of one of the world’s great natural wonders, spanning over two and a half miles across, with 275 separate cataracts. (B)
After breakfast you will tour the Argentine side of the Falls. Continue to the viewing platform overlooking roaring Devil’s Throat, the main Falls, from where the Iguazu River precipitates. (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, begin your day sightseeing and getting acquainted with the city of Buenos Aires, also known as the “Paris of Latin America”. You will visit all the major attractions of the city, including the Plaza de Mayo, Avenida 9 de Julio and the famous Italian district of La Boca. (B)
After breakfast, you have the entire day free to continue exploration of Buenos Aires on your own. In the evening, experience one of the true highlights of your tour, a special Tango Show while you enjoy your dinner. The Tango was born in Argentina, and a visit to one of the tango show houses features the best artist and dancers accompanied by traditional Argentine cuisine. (B, D)
After breakfast transfer to Buenos Aires Airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival at Lima’s airport, explore the city including old and new Lima. Overnight. (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco. After a little free time for lunch, you will embark in the afternoon for fun and adventure with a city tour. Then on to the nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. That evening, enjoy a fun filled Dinner with everyone on the tour at a popular local restaurant. (B,D)
The next morning after a great Breakfast, the whole group will head off to the train station a board the train for a full day of fun exploring the ruins at Machu Picchu. After free time for dinner you will head back to Hotel for your overnight stay. (B)
Starting off this morning you have the opportunity to sleep in or enjoy a complementary Breakfast in the Hotel, and then off for a morning of shopping or visit the ruins in Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon you will depart to Cuzco. Upon arrival in Cuzco you will be transported to your hotel for an evening of free time and fun in Cuzco. (B)
After breakfast, to the airport you shall go, for your flight to Lima connecting to the USA, giving you time to reflect on your 13 day fun filled tour.
