Camping safari within the Chobe National Park, renowned for having the highest densities of elephant in Africa. Unique outdoor camping experience in private sites. 3 Hour river boat cruise. Open safari vehicles allow for superb photographic opportunities. Participating in the Chobe Wildlife Tented Safari is an authentic nature experience where there will be no en-suite bathrooms or electricity! The Chobe National Park is completely unfenced and so too are the exclusive campsites we use, however we will endeavor to make your trip as comfortable as possible with the knowledge that this is a true bush experience with no fences or tar roads in sight! No children under 12 permitted.
We depart Kazangula Border Post between 08h30 and 09h00 and proceed to Kasane for the opportunity to purchase any personal beverages, as there are no shops within the park.
After a short briefing, we commence on an exhilarating 3 hour boat cruise into the Chobe National Park, easily one of the highlights of this trip. From aboard the boat, one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippo, crocodiles and of course, scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst.
On arrival at 'white sands' you will be welcomed by your guide for the remainder of your safari and proceed to do a game drive to our wilderness campsite. After a hearty lunch and some time to settle into your tents we embark on an afternoon game drive, this being the best time of day to see Chobe's large herbivores making their way down to the river.
We return to camp shortly after sunset for dinner and evening drinks around the camp fire.
This morning we wake you at dawn with a friendly Botswana 'dumela' (good day) with warm water in your basins, to freshen up. After a quick cup of tea or coffee, we head off on an early morning game drive. This is the best time of day for searching for the big cats as they are still active and chances of seeing them are good.
Around mid morning we return to camp for a delicious 'bush brunch', followed by a siesta to escape the heat of the day.
As it starts to cool off, we head out for another afternoon game drive in search of further wildlife activity. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game from cats to large herbivores with elephant and buffalo being a highlight. However there are also the rarer game like puku and roan antelope, along with many more common antelope on offer too.
Once again return to camp after sunset for dinner and to reflect on the day whilst being accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.
Another 'dumela' dawn wake up and after a scrumptious cooked breakfast we ensure all your luggage is securely packed before heading out of the park on our final game drive. This last drive may even prove to be the best and will with the others remain etched in memory as a truly great African experience.
Return to Kazungula by 09.00 hrs where the tour ends.
You can easily extend your holiday to include Victoria Falls, a mere two hour road distance from Chobe (Kasane). To offer you at 'The Falls', including white water rafting, bungi jumping, canoeing, cultural experiences, heli flips and micro-light flips over 'The Falls'... and more...
