Detailed Trip Description

Enjoy a First Class Resort on the Indian Ocean beach. We will visit the Nelson Mandela Museum, visit a indigenous forest, enjoy scenic views of the ocean and many more activities on this tour. If you would like to extend this trip, heading south towards the Garden Route see Durban to Garden Route 6N, (includes the Wild Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Tsitsikama 6N)

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - 4 - South Africa

 
Beach

Fly into Mthatha, drive 2hrs away to Port St johns and settle in at a First Class Resort on the Indian Ocean beach. We will stop at the arts and crafts stalls along the way, and enjoy the drive through magnificent Indigenous forests, and a walk with a local guide.

Sightseeing

Experience village walks, canoe trips, beach walks, waterfall trips, horse riding on the beach and through the local villages, and of course relaxing and doing nothing. 2 nights in an ocean view room.

We will be heading to Trenneries for 2 Nights. Along the way, we will visit the Nelson Mandela Museum and visit his home village, before continuing on the way passing though and stopping, if you wish, at a rural village.

At Trenneries, which is another local small Indian Ocean beach side hotel, nestled amongst villagers, we will do a morning 3 hour boat ride/walk combination, on a lagoon, adjoining the ocean. We will enjoy a visit to an indigenous forest, scenic views of the ocean, and we will visit a local traditional healer, with a bilingual guide. We will also revisit the story of the most dramatic local Xhosa experience that moved to shape the future events of Southern Africa.


Day 5 - East London

 
Airport Transfer

Drive to East London, from where you will fly onto your next destination, or if you wish to proceed down the Garden Route, we can arrange a driver to drive you down, or you can fly onto any destination you wish.
