Detailed Trip Description

Wild Coast = Northern area of the Eastern Cape, where you will find beautiful mountains, valleys, indigenous forests, beaches, local villages, art and crafts stands, scenic waterfalls plunging into the ocean, and warm friendly people. You will leave this area filled with memories of South Africa that will last a lifetime. Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - 2 - Durban

 
Airport Transfer

Pick up at Durban airport, drive to secluded beach side comfortable First Class Resort, about 4 hrs away, nestled in between villages, and next to the ocean. You will stay here for 2 nights.

Sightseeing

Experience village walks, canoe trips, beach walks, waterfall trips, horse riding on the beach and through the local villages, and of course relaxing. 2 nights in an ocean view room.


Day 3 - 4 - South Africa

 
Sightseeing

Drive 2 hours away to Port St Johns and settle in at a First Class Resort once again on the beach. We will stop at art and craft stalls along the way, and enjoy the drive through magnificent Indigenous forests. We will stay here for 2 nights.

Experience village walks, canoe trips, beach walks, waterfall trips, horse riding on the beach and through the local villages, and of course relaxing. 2 nights in an ocean view room.


Day 5 - South Africa

 
Sightseeing

Day drive to Umtata, 2hrs away, and visit the Nelson Mandela Museum, visit his home village, before continuing onward partly via the rural Transkei (Wild Coast) enjoying rural villages, scenic rural life, ending of at Alice in a local B and B .


Day 6 - South Africa

 
Sightseeing

Enjoy a visit to the historic University of Fort Hare, see a local art gallery, past political archives from the ANC, PAC, and Steve Biko, and drive to Port Alfred, from where you will spend the night.

Before leaving the Bisho area, we will stop along the way to visit Steve Biko's home, and if lucky a chance to meet Mrs. Biko, his grave, and walk through a local shopping area for villagers.


Day 7 - South Africa

 
Sightseeing

7th Day meander down to Knysna, stopping along the way at the storms river bridge, possibly Jeffries Bay or Cape St Francis to give you a peek into other local beach areas, the Tsitsikama forest, being dropped of mid afternoon, from where a local guide will meet you for any local activities that we have planned for you for the garden route

You will leave this area filled with memories of South Africa that will last a lifetime.
