Detailed Trip Description

Mozambique is an easy add on to a South Africa package, and is becoming very popular. Our Swim with Wild Dolphins in Mozambique packages can be added on to a South Africa tour. Mozambique has exceptional beaches, warm water, and lots of miles of quiet, undisturbed coastline. These swim with wild dolphins packages can include a theme weekend such as yoga, or just a straight swim with wild dolphins package. We custom design packages for any type of Mozambique tour. This trip starts in Johannesburg and travels to Mozambique, finishing back in Johannesburg.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Johannesburg

 
Johannesburg to Maputo.
Bus

We will meet at 7:00 A.M. in the reception area of the Backpackers Ritz. An early morning transfer to the central bus station will be arranged. Depart from Johannesburg for Maputo, an enchanting city of wide acacia lined avenues and tall buildings, overlooking Maputo Bay and the Indian Ocean.

Sightseeing

The capital, Maputo, is known for its remarkable wealth of architecture, making it unique amongst Africa’s cities.

Hotel

You will be met in Maputo and transferred to your hotel for the night (D)


Day 2 - Maputo

 
Maputo to Ponta Malongane Bay.
Bus

Departing early morning, we will travel past the Maputo Elephant Reserve to the beautiful bay of Ponta Malongane.

Beach

Your guide will prepare lunch while you organize afternoon activities or simply relax on the beach. (B, L, D)


Day 3 - 4 - Mozambique

 
Ponta Malongane.
Scuba Diving

A nature lover’s paradise – the giant bush baby, birds and a wide variety of flora and fauna are all there. Add to this 14 reefs close by with a stunning array of corals and tropical fish, whales , dolphins , manta rays, turtles and a variety of other marine life and you truly have a divers dream.

Snorkeling

For non divers: snorkelling, fishing, swimming, and walks along the deserted beach can be a relaxing experience. (B, L, D)


Day 5 - Maputo

 
Bus

After an early morning dive, there is time for breakfast, before heading back to Maputo.

Sightseeing

An afternoon city tour takes in the highlights of this fascinating city.

Nightlife

In the evening, the nightlife beckons for the young at heart or for those less inclined one of the many restaurants for a taste of true Mozambiquan cuisine. (B; L)


Day 6 - Johannesburg

 
Maputo to Johannesburg.
Bus

We board the early morning coach back to Johannesburg where our trip will end.
