Detailed Trip Description

This Luxury flying package takes you to two of Kenya’s best game sanctuaries- Maasai Mara Game Reserve & Samburu National Reserve. It is designed for the busy safari enthusiast, who wishes to have the best game viewing experience and to stay at top-drawer accommodation. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is hard to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here, including the Big Five- lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard, and elephant. The most spectacular event of the natural world takes place in the Mara: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Samburu, in Kenya’s semiarid north is another wildlife haven. Here you will spot Africa’s big cats - lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Samburu

 
Nairobi – Samburu.
Commercial Flight

You will be picked from your Hotel at 6:45am and transferred to the Wilson Airport. Your flight to Samburu takes off at 8am.

Safari

Upon arriving at the Samburu airstrip you are met at the airstrip. From there you will enjoy a game drive en-route to the Samburu Serena Lodge.

Safari

After lunch at the lodge, you have an early afternoon free. From 3:30pm until dusk you will enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Adventure

Samburu National Reserve is a wildlife haven. Here you will spot Africa’s big cats - lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. Some animals are unique to this northern Kenya park: Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, kudu and gerenuk. The The Ewaso Nyiro River, the boundary with the neighboring Buffalo Springs National Reserve, is where the elephants, buffalo and other animal species gather for a drink. You will find the scenic semiarid landscape quite dramatic. The reserve is located within the lands of the colourful semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen.

Day 2 - Samburu

 
Safari

Early morning game drive in a safari vehicle with pop up roof for gameviewing will begin at 6:30am. A late breakfast will follow.

Food and Dining

Lunch will be provided at your lodge.

Safari

You spend the early afternoon to relax at your own leisure. At 3:30pm you go for your afternoon game drive which will return at dusk.

Day 3 - Samburu

 
Samburu – Maasai Mara.
Commercial Flight

After breakfast at 7:30am, you will prepare for your transfer to the airstrip. You will depart to Maasai Mara Game Reserve at 9:15am.

You arrive at 10:45am. You will enjoy a game drive en-route to Mara Serena Lodge.

After lunch at the lodge you relax at leisure until 3:30pm when you will set off for a game drive till dusk.

Adventure

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

Day 4 - Kenya

 
Maasai Mara.
Safari

Today you will enjoy a morning game drive at 9:30am and an afternoon game drive at 3:30pm in the Maasai Mara. You will have lunch at the lodge at 1pm.

Day 5 - Nairobi

 
Maasai Mara - Nairobi.
Safari

Early morning game drive at 6:30am. You will return to the lodge for breakfast. OR

Ballooning

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Safari

At 10:15am you will leave to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi departing at 11:00am. You will enjoy another game-drive en route.

Commercial Flight

You arrive at Wilson Airport Nairobi 12:15pm. Here our driver guide will meet you ready to transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International airport.
