Detailed Trip Description

Enjoy 14 Days Wild Western tour featuring sightseeing and many activities in California, Arizona and Nevada. Start off this lovely trip in San Diego where you will drive through the O.C, take a scenic drive along the pacific coast, have a city sightseeing tour and and even see downtown, the Gaslamp quarter and Balboa Park. Before you leave, cross the Coronado Bridge for a panorama of the city skyline and visit Mission Beach. Then cross the border to visit Tijuana, Mexico. Next it's on to Phoenix where you will take a scenic drive through Cleveland National Forest, see the Anza Borrego Desert and the Imperial Sand Dunes, and visit the cacti filled Sonoran Desert. Sedona is the next stop on this wonderfully exciting adventure. There, you can take a scenic drive through Red Rock Country, see brilliantly hued sandstone cliffs and rugged spires and you can even shop for Native American jewelry. Before you leave, don't forget to drive through beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. Go to the Grand Canyon to stay in the National Park, visit the Panoramic, hike and watch a spectacular sunset. Stop for photos and souvenirs on the famous Route 66. Once in Las Vegas you can have an evening Illumination tour including the famous Las Vegas 'Strip.' Then visit the Fremont Street Experience Light Show and the many casinos; now you can really begin to enjoy the nightlife! Next it's on to the Mojave Desert where you will see the famous Joshua Trees. If it is the right season, relax in the beautiful mountain paradise of Bass Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains: swim, sunbathe and enjoy watersports! After, travel to San Fransisco to sightsee and have a guided tour of AT&T Park, home to the San Fransisco Giants baseball team. On the last leg of this wonderful tour, relax at the beach in Carpinteria. See the famous Wharf at Santa Barbara and enjoy this vibrant beachside town. Before you go, don't forget to view the Hollywood Sign, Mann's Chinese Theatre and Hollywood's Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - San Diego

 
Los Angeles (Anaheim) to San Diego.
Sightseeing

The Adventure Begins! Your morning begins with a warm welcome from your road crew and a short drive along the Pacific Coast to San Diego, where we'll introduce you to "America's Finest City" with a sightseeing tour, that includes downtown, the Gaslamp Quarter and Balboa Park.

Shopping

We'll drive across the Coronado Bridge for great views of the San Diego skyline as we head south of the border to Tijuana, Mexico for shopping and lunch. Viva Mexico!

Food and Dining

Tonight we'll enjoy the lively Gaslamp Quarter. ( Dinner )


Day 2 - San Diego

 
Sightseeing

Fun in the Sun. Today you choose how to spend your day. Perhaps you'll want to visit the World Famous San Diego Zoo or hang out with the whale, Shamu, at Sea World!

Beach

This afternoon we'll head to Mission Beach to check out the So Cal beach scene. (weather permitting)

Nightlife

This evening experience some of San Diego's nightlife! ( Breakfast )


Day 3 - Phoenix

 
San Diego to Phoenix.
Bus

This morning we leave the beach life of Southern California and travel to the cacti filled Sonoran desert.

Sightseeing

Today's drive is full of ever changing scenery, passing through Cleveland National Forest, Anza Borrego Desert and the Imperial Sand dunes.

Hotel

After lunch it's on to Phoenix and our hotel in the university town of Tempe. ( Breakfast )


Day 4 - Grand Canyon

Today is filled with deserts, red rocks and the Grand Canyon! This morning you'll have an opportunity to take a hot air balloon flight about the incredible Sonoran desert (optional).

National Parks

Next stop is the Grand Canyon! Our modern cabins are located inside the National Park, just a short walk to the rim of the Grand Canyon. ( Breakfast, Dinner )

Sightseeing

See the desert and come alive as you float peacefully above. Leaving Phoenix we'll journey to red rock country. You'll be awed by the brilliantly hued sandstone carved by sea and wind into cliffs and rugged spires. Get a closer look at the Sedona back country with an optional jeep ride.


Day 5 - Grand Canyon

National Parks

A World Wonder. At over 1.6km (1 mile) deep and averaging 16km (10 miles) wide, it is easy to understand why the Grand Canyon is considered one of the world's seven natural wonders. We have the entire day to hike and explore the national park.

Maybe take a sensational helicopter flight over the canyon (optional).

Don't miss the spectacular sunset at the Grand Canyon. ( Breakfast )


Day 6 - Las Vegas

 
Grand Canyon to Las Vegas.
Sightseeing

On to Sin City! From quiet beauty to outrageous bright lights - Las Vegas awaits you! Tonight, we'll take a drive down the famous Vegas "Strip." You won't believe your eyes at this crazy place!

Nightlife

After the light show at Fremont Street, why not take in a Las Vegas cabaret show? (optional) ( Dinner )


Day 7 - Las Vegas

 
Gambling

Vegas, Baby! Only in Las Vegas can you visit most of the world's largest hotels and casinos in one day, gamble while you swim, catapult 327 meters (1,081 feet) up in the air from the top of the Stratosphere Hotel, feel like you are in Venice, Egypt, New York, Ancient Rome, and Paris all at the same time, and party like a rock star 24 hours a day!

Relaxation

Get out there and do it all - or just lie by the pool and relax.

Nightlife

Tonight, party on at one of Las Vegas's premier hot spots! (Breakfast)


Day 8 - Cody/Yellowstone

 
Las Vegas to Yosemite Gateway.
Sightseeing

Deserts to Mountains. Recount your Vegas adventures to your friends as we say "goodbye" to the deserts of Nevada and "hello" to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. (Dinner)


Day 9 - Cody/Yellowstone

 
Yosemite National Park.
National Parks

Today, we will explore the magnificent Yosemite National Park, with its famous rock formations of El Capitan and Half Dome. When we arrive on the valley floor, you will have the opportunity to cycle or hike (seasonal and weather permitting) or simply soak up the atmosphere of one of America's treasured national parks. (Breakfast)


Day 10 - San Francisco

 
Yosemite Gateway to San Francisco.
Sightseeing

The City by the Bay. This city grooves! You will quickly fall in love with this place during your extensive city tour that includes The Golden Gate Bridge, North Beach, Golden Gate Park and Haight Ashbury -hippie central.

Sailing

This afternoon enjoy a sunset sailing adventure on San Francisco's Bay (optional/seasonal). ( Breakfast )


Day 11-12 - San Francisco

 
Sightseeing

First up, experience the home to the San Francisco Giants Baseball Club on a guided tour of the AT&T Ballpark.

Sightseeing

Then enjoy two days exploring this fascinating and diverse city, ride on one of the city's famous cable cars, shop in Union Square, bike across the Golden Gate Bridge, or take a walk down crooked Lombard Street - the world's "crookedest street".

Food and Dining

Get out your chopsticks and join us for dinner in Chinatown (optional). (Breakfast, Dinner)


Day 13 - San Francisco

 
San Francisco to Carpinteria via Santa Barbara.
Beach

Life's a Beach. Check out California's scenery as we head south to the beachside town of Santa Barbara where you'll feel like you are in the Mediterranean.

Shopping

The afternoon is yours to relax at the beach, visit the famous wharf or shop on State Street.

Hotel

We'll stay in a nearby coastal village tonight for the ultimate California experience. ( Dinner )


Day 14 - Los Angeles

 
Carpinteria to Los Angeles (Anaheim).
Sightseeing

I Love L.A…. This morning we will make the short drive to the entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles! First stop is Hollywood Blvd where you'll see the world famous Hollywood sign, Mann's Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame. You'll have the option to get an insiders look at Hollywood and its classic theaters with an optional walking tour.

Airport Transfer

All good things must come to an end and so on to Anaheim where our tour - not the friendships made - end this afternoon. Please Note: Do not book flights before 8:00pm. (Breakfast)
