Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - On the Plane
Commercial Flight
Board your overnight transatlantic flight.
Day 2 - Paris
Arrival in Paris, France.
Airport Transfer
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Stay at Concorde Ambassador (SF).
Food and Dining
Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director and traveling companions.
Day 3 - Lyon
Paris - Beaune - Lyon.
Wine
Drive into the Burgundy wine country and past the Cote d' or vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits St. Georges to the medieval town of Beaune. Sample some of the delicious regional wines at one of the local wine cellars. Then head to the historic city of Lyon. (B)

Stay at Novotel Gerland (F).
Day 4 - Nice
Lyon - Avignon - Nice.
Sightseeing
Take a scenic drive to Avignon to see the Papal Palace and famous Broken Bridge. Continue through the Provence of Van Gogh and Cézanne to the French Riviera and jet-set Nice.
Food and Dining
Later, enjoy French cuisine in a local restaurant.

The taste of the high life on a visit to the Principality of Monaco to see the famous Monte Carlo casinos! (B,D)

Day 5 - Nice
Relaxation
A full day at leisure to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Côte d'Azur.

Day 6 - Nice
Nice - Nîmes - Carcassonne.
Bus
Journey through Cannes along the magnificent coast, and then through the Camargue to Nîmes.
Sightseeing
See the Roman arena, the Maison Carré and city gardens. Then on past Alaric's Mountain to the walled city of Carcassonne. (B,D)

Stay at Hotel des Trois Couronnes (F) or Hotel du Soleil Terminus (F).
Day 7 - Biarritz
Carcassonne - Lourdes - Biarritz.
Sightseeing
This morning enjoy an orientation tour of this magical city. Then wind through the Corbieres Hills and Cathar landscapes toward the Pyrenees and the pilgrimage site of Lourdes. See the Basilica on top of St. Bernadette's grotto en route to Biarritz.
Beach
There is time for a walk along the beach before arriving at the hotel. (B,D)

Day 8 - Bordeaux
Biarritz - Bordeaux.
Sightseeing
Leave Biarritz and cross the country of Les Landes to the classical town of Bordeaux. An orientation tour highlights the magnificent Esplanade des Quinconces and the banks of the Gironde.
Relaxation
Then, there is time at leisure to explore in the old quarter. (B,D)

Day 9 - Bordeaux
Bordeaux - St. Emilion - Dordogne Valley.
Wine
Your first stop today is at St. Emilion, famous for its red wines. Wander through the winding streets, admire the ancient architecture and perhaps buy some fine wine.
Sightseeing
Then on through the beautiful Dordogne Valley, via Bergerac to see the castle of Beynac, the fortress of Castelnaud and Josephine Baker's Château of Les Milandes. Pass La Roque-Gageac, with its quaint houses clinging to the Dordogne cliffs, and Les Eyzies, “the cradle of pre-history,” before arriving at your château-hotel in the Dordogne Valley.

Tonight, enjoy a gourmet dinner in the elegant dining-room of this 19th century château. (B,D)

Day 10 - Tours
Dordogne Valley - Loire Valley - Tours.
Sightseeing
Journey to Limoges to see a porcelain manufacturing demonstration. Next, stop to visit the beautiful fairy tale Palace of Chenonceau in the Loire Valley before reaching Tours.

This evening, why not take the opportunity of dining with the Troglodytes? (B)

Day 11 - Tours
Tours - Mont St. Michel - Omaha Beach.
Sightseeing
This morning journey into Brittany to visit the island-town of Mont St. Michel, with its picturesque streets and abbey.
Beach
From here travel along the Liberty Highway to St. Lô and the D-Day Landing Beaches.
Hotel
Then head to your hotel near the beach. Stay at Mercure Omaha Beach (F). (B,D)
Day 12 - Paris
Omaha Beach - Giverny - Paris.
Sightseeing
Set off towards the valley of the River Seine to make a stop in Giverny. Visit the house and gardens of Claude Monet, the inspiration for his waterlily paintings. Then, continue to lively Paris where your evening is free. (B)
Day 13 - Paris
Sightseeing
Today's sightseeing tour with a local guide includes the ascent of the Eiffel Tower to its second level for wonderful views over the city. Other highlights include views of Notre Dame Cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysées.
Historical and Educational Tours
Take a guided walk through the Gardens of Les Invalides and see the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Relaxation
The rest of the day is free for last minute shopping or to relax over a “café au lait” in a sidewalk café.

Depart Paris.
