Day 1 - Darwin

 
Museums

This afternoon, take a tour of the highlights of Darwin and visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

Day 2 - Katherine

 
Darwin - Nitmiluk National Park - Katherine.
National Parks

Stop at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, then on to Nitmiluk National Park.

Ocean Cruise

Enjoy a cruise on Katherine Gorge, as the walls reflect the colors of the afternoon sun. (B,D)

Day 3 - Kununurra

 
Katherine - Lake Argyle - Kununurra.
Sightseeing

This morning, visit the historic Durack Homestead. Then travel to Lake Argyle, Australia’s largest manmade lake.

Next, board a cruise along the Ord River to picturesque Kununurra, watch for wildlife along the way. (B,D)

Day 4 - Kununurra

Travel to Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve to see the birdlife of this region and learn about traditional lifestyles. Con­tinue to Wynd­ham and stop at the Five Rivers Lookout for the panoramic view.

Next, visit Warriu Park to see the Dreamtime Statues and rock art. This afternoon, ­travel to the outback station of El Questro. (B,D)

Day 6 - Australia

Day 7 - Halls Creek

 
El Questro Ranch - Halls Creek.
Sightseeing

Visit the Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine, the largest in the world. Take a guided tour of the mine and see the diamond display.

Then continue on to the township of Halls Creek. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Fitzroy Crossing

 
Halls Creek - Geikie Gorge Cruise - Fitzroy Crossing.

Enjoy a cruise on the Fitzroy River, through ancient and spectacular Geikie Gorge. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Broome

 
Fitzroy Crossing - Derby - Broome.
Sightseeing

Travel to the port of Derby and see the famous Boab Prison Tree. Then, on to the tropical resort town of Broome. See Chinatown and Streeters Jetty, then the rest of the day is free. (B)

Day 10 - Broome

 
Beach

Today is at leisure to explore this tropical hideaway at your own pace. Take a stroll along the pristine sand and swim in the turquoise blue waters of Cable Beach.

Shopping

Wander through Chinatown or shop for pearls.

Beach

At the end of the day sit back, relax and watch the spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean. You might want to take a camel ride along Cable Beach (own expense). (B)


Day 11 - Port Hedland

 
Broome - Port Hedland.
Sightseeing

Skirt the Great Sandy Desert, heading to Port Hedland, an important shipping outlet. (B,D)

Day 12 - Port Hedland

 
Port Hedland - Marble Bar - Karijini Nat’l Park.

Leaving Port Hedland, stop at Marble Bar, named after the bar of jasper crossing the Coongan River.

Day 14 - Exmouth

Your first stop today is a visit to Giralia Station, an area of outstanding biodiversity with many different species of flora and fauna.

Day 15 - Monkey Mia

 
Exmouth - Ningaloo Reef - Monkey Mia.

Travel to Coral Bay, a quaint seaside town and board a sub-sea viewer over Ningaloo Reef. Observe the abundance and variety of marine life that inhabits these tropical waters and marvel at the brilliant display of colorful coral formations.

Day 16 - Monkey Mia

Monkey Mia - Kalbarri - Geraldton.
Beach

Visit Hamelin Pool to see the stromatolites. Your next stop is at spectacular Shell Beach, made up of billions of shells.

Later, visit Kalbarri National Park for views over the Murchison River.

Bus

Then, continue to the coastal town of Geraldton. (B,D)


Day 18 - Perth

 
Geraldton - The Pinnacles - Perth.

Travel to Nam­bung National Park and view the mystical Pinnacles. The Pinnacles are limestone foundations that were once piles of shells in an inland sea.

Food and Dining

Then on to Perth for a Farewell Dinner. (B,D)

Depart Perth.
