Day 1 - On the Plane

 
Commercial Flight

Board Your Overnight Flight.


Day 2 - Rio De Janeiro

 
Arrive Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
Airport Transfer

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

The balance of the day is free. This eve­ning, relax over a delicious BBQ dinner followed by a colorful Folklore and Carnival show. (D)

Day 3 - Rio De Janeiro

 
Train

Join an exciting full day tour of Rio. Start with a cog-train ride through Tijuca Forest and up Corcovado Mountain.

Sightseeing

Disembark and walk up to the top lookout where the towering statue of Christ the Redeemer stands.

Sightseeing

Then, descend by train and pass by Rio’s world-famous beaches to board a cable car for a two-staged ascent up Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Sightseeing

Enjoy the spectacular views of the city before traveling down and continuing past the downtown area, Candelaria Church, Lapa Arches, the Muni­cipal Theatre, and the Samba­drome, site of Rio’s famous Carnival parade. Your evening is free. (B,L)


Day 4 - Rio De Janeiro

 
Shopping

A full day at leisure. For shoppers, art, jewelry and crafts are always good buys.

Sunbathing

Perhaps ­sunbathe on Copacabana or Ipanema Beach.

Sightseeing

Sightseers can choose between two tours: A full day schooner cruise from a nearby fishing village with lunch and swimming or a half day jeep excursion through a rain forest (both own expense). (B)


Day 5 - Iguassu Falls

 
Rio De Janeiro - Iguassu Falls.
Commercial Flight

A free morning in Rio. This afternoon, fly to Iguassu Falls.

Hotel

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Stay at Bourbon Cataratas (DLX).

Relaxation

Your evening is at leisure. (B,D)


Day 6 - Iguassu Falls

 
Sightseeing

This morning, a local guide will show you the Falls from the Brazilian side on an informative walking tour. The two-mile-wide torrent is nothing short of spectacular. The rainbows, thundering roar and plunging cascades of water make this truly one of nature''s wonders. (B,L)


Day 7 - Buenos Aires

 
Iguassu Falls - Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Train

A morning tour will take you to the Argentine side of the Falls. Board the Ecological Train and ride to a spectacular viewpoint to see the famous Devil’s Throat.

Commercial Flight

Then transfer for your flight to Buenos Aires.

Airport Transfer

On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, situated in the heart of downtown’s restaurants and shops. (B)

Day 8 - Buenos Aires

 
Sightseeing

Start sightseeing with views of the Plaza de Mayo. On to see San Telmo and colorful La Boca. Drive down Avenida 9 de Julio, the world’s widest avenue.

Sightseeing

After views of Palermo Park, visit the famous Recoleta Cemetery to see the graves of many of Argentina’s leaders, including Eva Duarte, who later became Evita Peron. The rest of the day is free. (B)


Day 9 - Buenos Aires

 
Sightseeing

A free day. Your Tour Director will have many suggestions, including a day trip to the Pampas to learn the life of the Gaucho (Argentine cowboy).

Shopping

For the shoppers, ­downtown is full of boutiques and ­gallerias with great buys in leather, ­clothing and arts and crafts. (B)


Day 10 - Buenos Aires

 
Commercial Flight

This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, where your time is free. (B)

Relaxation

Your morning is free.


Day 11 - Lima

 
Buenos Aires - Lima, Peru.
Sightseeing

A sightseeing tour begins at the Plaza Mayor.

Food and Dining

Lunch will be at a beautifully restored 18th century mansion. The rest of the day free. (B,L)

Museums

Next, visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum, with its ­extensive collections of golden jewelry and pre-Inca pottery.

Hotel

Stay at Sonesta Posada del Inca el Olivar (SF).


Day 12 - Lima

 
Lima - Cuzco - Sacred Valley.
Commercial Flight

Transfer for the flight to Cuzco and meet your local host.

Sightseeing

From here, travel to Uru­bamba, better known as “The Sacred Valley of the Incas.” Visit Ollantaytambo for a walking tour through the village.

Arts, Crafts and Antiques

Relax over lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the Chinchero Market to bargain with the vendors for Peruvian arts and crafts. (B,L,D)

Stay at Posada del Inca Yucay (F).


Day 13 - Machu Picchu

 
Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu.
Train

Transfer to Ollanta Station for the Vistadome train journey to Machu Picchu.

Sightseeing

There is time to explore the magnificent ruins of the “Lost City of the Incas” on your own after a guided walking tour.

Food and Dining

Enjoy lunch at Sanctuary Lodge before making the short trip to Machu Picchu Village and your hotel. (B,L,D)

Stay at Machu Picchu Pueblo (F).


Day 14 - Cuzco

 
Machu Picchu - Cuzco.
Sightseeing

Return to Machu Picchu for last impressions of this extraordinary site.

Train

This afternoon, travel by train to Cuzco, where the rest of the day is free. (B,D)

Stay at Casa Andina Private Collection Cuzco (F).


Day 15 - Cuzco

 
Sightseeing

A morning city tour shows you the Plaza del Regocijo, Plaza de Armas, and the Cathedral. Then, head to the San Blas district. Also, visit several Inca ruins, in­cluding the fortresses of Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay. The remainder of the day is free.

Food and Dining

Dinner is at a popular local restaurant complete with Peruvian folkloric music. (B,D)


Day 16 - Lima

 
Cuzco - Lima.
Commercial Flight

Late this morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima.

Sightseeing

Your afternoon is free to explore on your own. Check with your Tour Director about an optional evening out to celebrate a great South American adventure. (B)


Day 17 - Lima

 
Depart Lima - USA.
Airport Transfer

You are transferred to the airport for your daytime flight home. (B)
