Travel to Mesa Verde National Park, home to one of the best-preserved ancient Indian cliff dwellings in the Southwest.

Drive along the Million Dollar Highway to the historic mining town of Silverton this morning. Optionally, you might want to take the Narrow Gauge Railroad instead.
Explore the historic buildings and quaint art shops of this National Historic District.
Perhaps go underground and experience the world of the gold miner on an optional tour of the Old Hundred Gold Mine. Returning to Durango, the rest of the day is free. (FB)
Journey south through Indian Country and central New Mexico to Santa Fe, the oldest capital city in the country.
On arrival, board an open-air trolley for a private guided tour high-lighting the history, art and architecture of this enchanting city. (FB,D)

A full day free. Explore the city further at your own pace, visit the museums, see the Governor's Palace or famous Loretto Chapel, or stroll through the artist’s district on Canyon Road.
This afternoon, perhaps join an optional excursion to Taos, including a guided visit to Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Historic Monument.
Take a float trip down the Rio Grande River followed by dinner served by Pueblo Indian families. (FB)

Continuing on, arrive in Albuquerque and take a stroll along the quaint streets of historic Old Albuquerque. (FB)

Your first stop today is at Acoma Pueblo Sky City, built high atop a sandstone mesa. A native guide leads a tour of the village, the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America.
Returning to Arizona, stop at Petrified Forest National Park, one of the world's largest and most colorful concentrations of petrified wood.
