Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - San Diego

 
Arrive San Diego.
Airport Transfer

Upon arrival, you have a complimentary transfer to your hotel. Your Tour Director is available this afternoon to welcome you and answer questions.

Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Reception at the hotel.

Day 2 - San Diego

 
Sightseeing

A morning city tour highlights the quaint Gaslamp Quarter, the bustling Embarcadero, Balboa Park and historic Old Town.

Relaxation

The afternoon is at leisure.

Optional
Sightseeing

Perhaps visit the San Diego Zoo or join an optional excursion to Mexico.

Food and Dining

This eve­ning, head to Seaport Village, where dinner is served at a popular local restaurant. (FB,D)


Day 3 - San Diego

 
San Diego - San Juan Capistrano - Beverly Hills.
Sightseeing

Journey north and visit Mission San Juan Capistrano, one of the original missions built by the Spanish. On to legendary Hollywood for a guided tour of the Kodak Theatre, home of the famous Academy Awards Ceremonies. See Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and drive along the fabled Sunset Strip to the palm-lined streets of Beverly Hills.

Day 4 - Santa Barbara

 
Beverly Hills - Santa Barbara - Cambria.
Museums

Visit the J. Paul Getty Museum with its fabulous art collections and spectacular grounds overlooking the city and Pacific Ocean.

Sightseeing

Then follow the coast north to Santa Barbara, one of California's most beautiful cities with spectacular Mediter­ranean architecture.

Bus

Finally, arrive at the quaint seaside town of Cambria. (FB,D)

Day 5 - Monterey

 
Cambria - San Simeon - Monterey.
Sightseeing

A short drive along the coast brings you to San Simeon for a guided tour of Hearst Castle. Built on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific, the spectacular grounds and grandiose home feature the world-class art collection of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst.

Wine

Then travel north through the rolling hills of California's Central Coast, dotted with vineyards and wineries.

Shopping

Stop at the artist colony of Carmel with time to stroll down tree-lined Ocean Avenue with its quirky shops and art galleries.

Golfing

Ride along the scenic 17 Mile Drive, home to the famous Lone Cypress and Pebble Beach Golf Course, to the historic seaside town of Monterey, where Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf reflect the city's long history with the sea. (FB)

Day 6 - Yosemite Ntl Park

 
Monterey - Sierra Nevada Mountains - Yosemite.
Bus

Journey inland through the fertile San Joaquin Valley, known as the breadbasket of California. Stop at an historic fruit stand for a chance to buy fresh-off-the-farm fruit.

National Parks

Then travel through the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Yosemite National Park.

Sightseeing

Enter Yosemite Valley and view the giant iconic forma­tions of El Capitan and Half Dome and breathtaking Yosemite Falls, the highest in North America. Enjoy a stroll along the Merced River and take in the immense beauty of this spectacular setting. (FB,D)

Day 7 - San Francisco

 
Yosemite - Napa - Sonoma - San Francisco.
Wine

Head west to the wine regions of Napa and Sonoma. Take a scenic drive along the Carneros Highway through rolling hills covered with vineyards and stop for a guided winery tour and tasting.

Sightseeing

Then cross the majestic Golden Gate Bridge and arrive in the city-by-the-bay, San Francisco. Your evening is free. You may want to join an optional walking tour in Chinatown. This “city within a city” is an historic maze of mysterious sights. (FB)

Day 8 - San Francisco

 
Sightseeing

A morning tour features Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, the Victorian mansions of Pacific Heights, the hills of the Presidio and Golden Gate Park. The afternoon is at leisure.

Food and Dining

This evening, join your fellow passengers for a festive Farewell Dinner at a popular restaurant on Fisher­man''s Wharf. (FB,D)


Day 9 - San Francisco

 
Depart San Francisco.
Airport Transfer

Transfer to San Francisco Inter­national Airport for your flight home. (FB)
