Enjoy 14 day exploration tour including sightseeing and other activities at Ghana, Togo and Benin. The activities will include visit to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial, National Theater, shopping at craft markets, tour of cape coast countries and Cape Coast Castle - another World Heritage Site.
Depart on your overnight flight to London’s Heathrow Airport, and then after you transfer planes, you will fly directly to Accra, Ghana.
Upon arrival at Accra airport, you will be met, assisted and transferred to the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, where you will check-in and the group will have their initial orientation.
The remainder of the day at leisure.
City Tour of Accra to see the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial, Independence Arch, National Theater and the W.E.B. Dubois Pan African Center.
Visit craft markets where you may test your bargaining skills on the local vendors.

Depart via over land vehicle for Cape Coast and Elmina, arriving late morning,you will take a brief tour of the city of Cape Coast and transfer to the Elmina Beach Resort.
Tour the Elmina Castle, a World Heritage site where slaves were held before being sent to the New World-followed by a walk through the town of Elmina.
In the afternoon, visit the Volta Fisherman Community, a coastal village with traditional industries and Volta style houses.

Depart to Kumasi within the Ashanti Kingdom. We pass through Obouasi, the location of the Ashanti Goldfields-one of the richest mines in the world.
Take an excursion to the village of Bonwire, the locale where the famous Royal Kente Cloth is made.

Visits to the craft villages of Pankrono (pottery), Ahwiaa (woodcarving), and Ntonso (adinkra) cloth.
Visit the Kumasi Cultural Center and lunch at the Kentish Kitchen with both American and Ghanian cuisine.
In the afternoon, an excursion to the Kumasi Central Market - the largest in West Africa followed by a visit to Manhiyia Palace for an audience with the Ashanti King or members of his Royal Court.

Depart for Accra, arriving early afternoon in Aburi, for lunch.
Then visit both Aburi Botanical Gardens and the woodcarvers/drum makers of Aburi.
After visiting these sites you will continue on to Accra, where you will overnight at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. (BD)
Depart on a 3 hour drive to Lome, Togo, stopping at points of interest.
Check into your hotel. Afternoon tour of Lome.

Depart to Cotonou, Benin. Arrive Cotonou late morning.
City tour of Cotonou and of Porto Novo, predominantly a town of traders because of its proximity to Nigeria.
We will visit the Ethnographic Museum(famous for it collection of Gelede Masks), The Brazilian Church and the 300 year-old Palace of King Toffa.

After breakfast, depart for Ouidah, Benin, the most important slave post and the stronghold of Vodun religion.
An unforgettable visit that take you to the Voodoo Museum, the Sacred Forest, and the Temple of the Pythons. Walk the “Road of Slaves,” to the awe-inspiring memorial. Continue to the place of the common Graves, the tree of forgetfulness and the “Gate of no Return"

Depart for Ganvie the African built on stilts.
Ganvie is one the numerous lake villages and largest that can be found on lake Nakoue. Ganvie is a must see, with its 30,000 inhabitants living on water. You will be welcomed to Ganvie by dancers, where you will explore and shop in the village. Ganvie was founded in the 17th century by a community of people who were fleeing slave traders. They thought it best to live on water and they have been living this way ever since.
After Ganvie, we will return to Cotonou where we will overnight. (BD)
Depart Cotonou for a leisurely drive back to Accra, Ghana, stopping for lunch in Lome, Togo.

After a day of leisure, you will be transferred to the Accra Airport.
You will check your luggage early, then be taken to an airport restaurant, where you will have a memorable departure dinner, before catching a late flight home.
