Kenya Million Animal Safari

Detailed Trip Description

For more than two decades, this unique safari has been a great choice for combining incredible wildlife viewing, hiking and African cross-cultural experiences. In 2008, we are further refining this trip as the premier nature and culture safari experience in East Africa. You will enjoy a combination of fine lodges and private, catered bush camping in remote areas with great hiking. You will meet some of the most interesting tribes in East Africa and encounter great herds of wildlife on foot, all from a spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned safari van. Throughout, you will benefit from a guide who is both an expert naturalist, as well as a friend of the people in the communities you will visit. In August and September, you can expect an inside view of the great Serengeti migration. You will have a good chance of seeing a million animals in a pristine African setting. If you make only one African safari, this is a great choice! All departures will be led by James Makau Nzioka, an expert Kenya birder, naturalist, conservationist and educator. A few words from your guide: “I have worked with Journeys for many years and I am very pleased to be leading this trip. We observe animals to understand them, never on a rushed program. We work with conservationists, and we enjoy spending evenings with you discussing issues that affect conservation in Kenya, past, present and future. I know that leadership is the key for visitors to really know and earn a great appreciation of a destination. It is always my pleasure to share what Kenya has to offer. As a guide, I know I am Kenya's ambassador to the outside world and I promise to do my job with great care and sincerity.”
