Detailed Trip Description

MT. MERU in Arusha National park has an altitude of 4566m and is the second highest mountain in Tanzania. This mountain is a dormant volcano and it offers a magnificent view of the imposing Mt. Kilimanjaro and the spectacular Rift Valley for visitors who climb Mt. Meru.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Tanzania

 
Private Car Service

Transfer to Momella gate, (Alt.2100 m).

Hiking

Climb up to Miriakamba Hut (Alt. 2541m)for Dinner and overnight.


Day 2 - On Foot

 
Hiking

Climb to the big Valley then to Saddle Hut (Alt. 3570m).

Camping

Back to Saddle hut for dinner and overnight.


Day 3 - Tanzania

 
Hiking

Final ascent to the Meru Peak 4566 m, descend down to Saddle hut then to Miriakamba hut for onwards transfers.
