Detailed Trip Description

The Patagonian lake district has long captured the imagination of the world’s greatest travelers. From hidden, five-star lodges to simple estancias with never-ending pampas to explore on horseback; from spas to gourmet outdoor picnics with postcard perfect views; from private fly fishing excursions to helitours, heliskiing and even helifishing; from nautical adventures on yachts, speed boats or sailboats to every type of outdoor adventure you can imagine, plus a few you maybe can’t, we will sort it out. Here's a suggested itinerary for Buenos Aires and Patagonia, but please feel free to ask us about our custom-made journeys.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Buenos Aires

 
Arriving in Buenos Aires.
Airport Transfer

Arrive in Ezeiza arirport. Airport reception and transfer to the Sofitel hotel, where you’ll be staying for four nights.

After the check in, we’ll provide you with maps and a special interest brochure. Relax and enjoy your first day!

9:00 pm: Dinner: you'll have reservations for dinner at the fabulous El Mirasol, where you'll taste the best steak ever! as well as the finest Argentinean wines. (D)


Day 2 - Buenos Aires

 
Must-see Spots & Tango.
Adventure

9:30 am: Bike adventure: see the best spots in town on a bike! 1:30 pm: back to the hotel.

Relaxation

Afternoon free. You can count on us for activities and tailor-made programs, as well as advise on how to best spend this day! We’ll make sure you have a great time.

Performing Arts

8:30 pm: Tango - dinner and performance. You'll visit the best tango place in the world: Esquina Carlos Gardel (VIP locations ensured).

Hotel

You'll be back at the hotel early in the evening. (BD)


Day 3 - Buenos Aires

 
Palermo Viejo + boutique shops + a delicious steak at La Cabrera resto.

Start your day by having a late breakfast.

Sightseeing

12:00 pm: You'll learn about this neighborhood's history and enjoy the various, eclectic, top of the line shops, that are lined up one next to the other. A few of these boutiques belong to our dear friends, so you’ll be treated like royalty!

2:00 pm: We’ll have lunch at La Cabrera and then continue our stroll.

Hotel

5:00 pm: Transfer back to the hotel.

Nightlife

10:00 pm: Dinner and cocktails. We’ll pick you up and go have dinner in Olsen/Dominga. Then, we’ll move on to a few of the exclusive local hangouts, where you can enjoy a few cocktails and submerge in the night culture of a city that never sleeps. (BLDC)


Day 4 - Buenos Aires

 
San Telmo & open-air market.
Sightseeing

2:30 pm: We’ll pick you up and take you to this beautiful neighborhood (one of the oldest in Buenos Aires), where we’ll take a walk through the antiques fair, sit at a pleasant side walk cafe, watch tango dancers, see art exhibitions on the street, and perhaps buy vintage clothes, purses, luxury items and Tango shoes. We’ll be with you, so we’ll help you bargain the prices!

Day 5 - Argentina

 
Flight to the Lakes District - Patagonia.
Commercial Flight

10:30 am: First Class flight to Bariloche airport. You will arrive at 12:00 pm. Your Patagonian host will be eagerly waiting for you there, to take you to one of the best kept secrets in Patagonia ---Villa la Angostura.

Hotel

You will be transferred to a "lake View Suite" in Las Balsas. Welcome to paradise.

10:00 pm: Dinner at Tinto Bistro. The owners of this cozy restaurant will personally greet you, and you will enjoy a gourmet meal with the best Argentine wines. (BD)


Day 6 - Argentina

 
Mountain bike & boat expedition to the Arrayanes National Park.
Mountain Biking

10:00 am: Mountain bike in the Arrayanes Forest, the only forest with this type of trees (related to Myrtles) in the world, and a good introduction to Patagonia's superlative beauty. The level of complexity is medium to low, and the duration is aproximately 3 hours: 1 hour on a boat to get there, and 2 and a half hours biking/trekking.

2:30 pm: Back to Las Balsas. We recommend you have lunch there. The food is fantastic (Relais & Chateaux), the view is magnificent, and the atmosphere is lovely! Brouse through the Curiocity brochure for more info on what to do next! (B)


Day 7 - Argentina

 
Fly fishing or trekking + Outdoors.

10:30 am: Fly fishing in some of the most stunnig rivers in the world. Gourmet Pic nic.

You will also enjoy a great outdoors gourmet lunch, specially prepared for you, and a selection of fine wines.

4:00 pm: Back to the hotel. (BL)


Day 8 - Argentina

 
Spa. Duckies excursion + Snorkelling + Gourmet pic-nic.

Start your day by having breakfast and enjoying the spa.

Snorkeling

11:00 am: Duckies adventure starts at Lake Espejo (mirror). You will paddle the margins of the lake to appreciate the exuberant vegetation and learn about our incredible environment. After an hour and a half, you'll stop at an unbelievable beach to relax and practice snorkelling. Here, you will be able to see trout, perch, clam beds and sunken forests. Its an ideal excursion for anglers. In the calm of the beach you will enjoy a delicious gourmet pic-nic. During the afternoon you will return, always in favour of the wind, which makes it much easier, and you can enjoy surfing the waves.

Day 9 - Argentina

 
Trekking Adventure across the forest, mountain, lakes & waterfalls.
Adventure

10:00 am: In between the Argentine and Chilean customs starts the path which will take us to Santa Ana and Dora’s waterfalls. The trek will lead us into the rainforest, and after a one hour walk you'll get to the wonderful Dora’s waterfall. As you continue you will get to the margins of a river where you will stop for a delicious lunch. After crossing the river, you have an hour and a half walk till you get to the impressive Santa Ana waterfall (130m). You can then cross behind it, and contemplate this unique and magic gift from nature.

Day 10 - Argentina

 
Transfer into the mountain village's center.
Shopping

3:00 pm: Transfer into town so that you can appreciate the beauty of this mountain village. Many stores offer regional goods, and anything you may need. You'll make a stop at “Fondo a la derecha”, a small, sophisticated deco space and deli served by their owners. We recommend that first you try one of their specialities, the beef and cheese sandwich and then you to take a look at the gorgeous things they sell such as leather, local wools, brocade jackets, hand carved wooden objects, etc. Oh! And dont forget to take some of their delicious marmalades, wines, and dulce de leche.

Day 11 - Buenos Aires

 
Fly back home.
Commercial Flight

Time to go. Pictures and gifts will be delivered at the hotel and you will be transferred to Bariloche's airport. (B)
