Detailed Trip Description

In commemoration of our 30th anniversary of heli-hiking, your clients will experience this new 6-day adventure in the mountains of western Canada amidst some of the most beautiful alpine scenery in North America. After spending a night at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park, you'll board a helicopter and be whisked away to the mountain splendor of British Columbia's Bugaboo Provincial Park and the welcoming Bugaboo Lodge. For three fantastic days, mountain peaks, wildflower-filled meadows and towering glaciers accessible only by helicopter will await your exploration. Our guests, not our guides, set the pace on a heli-hiking tour! Each day, your helicopter will hop from one amazing spot to another as experienced mountain guides lead small groups of guests sharing similar interests at their own pace. 3 days heli-hiking with expert guides. Guests explore an alpine wonderland accessible only by helicopter. 1 night in The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Day 1 - Alberta, Canada

 
In the lap of luxury.
Hotels

Your Bugaboo heli-hiking tour begins at 10:00 AM at Calgary Airport. Travel into Alberta’s magnificent Banff National Park, bound for an overnight stay at the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Day 2 - British Columbia, Canada

 
30 years of heli-hiking – up, up and away!
Hiking

A scenic drive through the mountains of British Columbia leads to Parson, where your heli-hiking tour begins with a helicopter lift to the remote Bugaboo Lodge, your most comfortable “base camp” for the next three nights. Recently renovated, the Bugaboo Lodge is set in the midst of the great spires of the Bugaboo Mountains, surrounded by inspiring views. You’ll be welcomed by the friendly staff who will show you around your alpine home and outfit you with everything you’ll need for your heli-hiking tour in the days ahead. After lunch, it’s time to lift off for a quick hop to some of the most beautiful places on earth.

Following a memorable afternoon, return to the lodge for a delicious dinner served family-style and an evening of sharing your experiences with your fellow heli-hikers.

Day 3 - 4 - British Columbia, Canada

 
Ah, wilderness!
Hiking

After breakfast, you’ll find your helicopter waiting to take you to yet more amazing places when you decide how you’d like to spend the day. Perhaps you’ll take a stroll through alpine meadows, or walk on a glacier, or even try a mountaineering adventure. Whatever your fitness level or interests, your guides will make your own dreams a reality during your heli-hiking tour – it’s up to you! Back at the Bugaboo Lodge in the evenings, enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as you trade the day’s stories with your fellow guests. Feel the warm camaraderie grow as guests gather around the crackling fire or soak in the rooftop hot tub.

Day 5 - Calgary, Canada

 
Farewell to the Bugaboos.
Hiking

As all good things do, your heli-hiking tour in the Bugaboos must come to end. When your helicopter lifts off from the Bugaboo Lodge for the last time, take a long look at the majestic wilderness that you’ve discovered. En route back to Calgary, stop for lunch in Radium Hot Springs on the Columbia River between the Rocky Mountains and the Purcell Mountain range.

Please join us for our farewell cocktail reception and dinner this evening.

Day 6 - Calgary, Canada

 
Homeward bound.
Airport Transfers

Your Bugaboo Adventure heli-hiking tour ends in Calgary. Please allow a minimum of two hours for airport check-in formalities. Those on flights directly back to the U.S. from Calgary will clear U.S customs in Calgary. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey home. Meals: Breakfast.
