Detailed Trip Description

Spend your holiday in the well- preserved, peaceful town of Luang Prabang. See for yourself why it is designated as one of the World Heritage towns by the UNESCO. Explore different temples, each having long history; many of them are just sitting serenely along the river bank and overlooking the river. Also don't forget to enjoy the breathtaking view of Luang Prabang from the Mount Phousi. Next, drive out of town to Pak Ou Cave which requires a boat trip across the Mae Kong River. Once you arrive there, discover a massive group of Buddha statues before you must return home from this historical journey.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Luang Prabang

 
Arrive at Luang Prabang. Enjoy an orientation tour around the town, including a climb up to Mount Phousi for the breathtaking view of the town at sunset.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your tour guide and taken on an orientation tour around this picturesque town. At sunset, ascend the 328 steps to the top of Phou Si Mountain that offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding rivers and cityscape before wandering through the bustling Hilltribe Market for traditional textiles and handicrafts made by the hill tribes.
Overnight in The Grand Luang Prabang.

Day 2 - Luang Prabang

 
Boat trip across the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves where you will discover a massive group of Buddha statues nestled deep in the limestone caverns, continued with a cultural tour to see Lao local living and interesting attractions and temples.

Following breakfast, cruise upstream along the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves, where you will discover gold-lacquered Buddha statues of all shapes and sizes nestled deep in the limestone caverns. Discover the significance of waterways in the Lao livelihood as you slowly cruise along the Mekong River. Embark on a cultural tour of Luang Prabang in the afternoon, in which you will visit the Royal Palace, now National Museum. Then explore the gilded temples dotted across the city which include Wat Mai, Wat Sensoukarahm and Wat Xieng Thong.

Day 3 - Luang Prabang

Sightseeing

After breakfast, spend the morning at the Heritage Information Center and learn how Luang Prabang fuses and preserves its traditional Lao and European colonial architecture. If time permits, visit the weaving village of Xang Khong and witness the techniques of making Lao textiles and mulberry paper before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.
