Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Tel Aviv

 
Arrive in Tel aviv.
Independence Hall
Historical and Educational Tours

Arrive in the a.m. andcheck into the hotel. Lets head to the Independence Hall and walk around downtown Tel Aviv.

Travel back in time to when Israel in 1948 became a state. Hear Ben Gurion's speech and hear the tally for Independence at the UN. All of this is easily accessible by taxi from your hotel. No guide is needed.

Early dinner along the shores of Tel Aviv


Day 2 - Tel Aviv

 
Day to the Palmach Museum and the Disapora Museum.
Palmach Museum
Adventure

Journey to the Palmach Museum where you will learn the history of the state of Israel. See reenactments of historical events leading up to the state of Israel. This is easily accessible by taxi from your hotel. No guide needed.

Walking tour of Jaffa and Neve Tzdek

Walk through the old city of Jaffa and have lunch at the best Humous restarant ever. I have wonderful guides who will take you to the top spots in Jaffa. From Jaffa walk through the oldest area of Tel Aviv, Neve Tzdek, with its small streets and wonderful boutiques and restaurants...get the flavor of modern Tel Aviv. Choose a great restaurant in Neve Tzdek for dinner.


Day 3 - Haifa

 
Travel up the coast of Israel back into history
Caesarea
Adventure

Travel to the capital of Judea under the Romans, explore the Crusader city, walk along the aqueduct, and spend time in the Amphitheater. Wonderful views of the Mediterranean. Enjoy Lunch at one of the many restaurants that dot the coast line or bring a picnic lunch and sit in the amphitheater to dine.

Day 4 - Haifa

 
Tour Haifa on your way to Acco and Rosh Hanikra

Tour the and visit the Bahai Shrine and its wonderful gardens with a certified guide. After seeing these wonderful sites head north to Akko, a fortified port city during the Crusader era. Following the fall of Jerusalem it served as the last capital in the Holy land. See the subterranean Crusader city, tours its ancient ramparts, tour the Tunisian Synagogue and dine on its shores at one of its more delightful restaurants...walk through their shuk. Proceed on to Rosh Hanikra and take the cable car to the grotto. See Israel from the most northern point. Overnight in a Kibbutz and get the flavor of Israel.


Day 5 - Safed

 
See the center of Jewish Mysticism

Tour the ancient synagoges and vist the wonderful artist colony. Pass through Rosh Pina and see the wonderful view of the Golan. Visit the wineries.
Overnight at a Kibbutz.


Day 6 - Tiberias

Visit Tiberias, drive to Capernaum and see the ruins of the synagogue, and visit the church of St Peter. Drive to Nazaeth and visit the Church of the Annunciation. Visit Beit Shean and Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floors of the synagogue which depicted the zodiac... truly exceptional. Overnight in Jerusalem.


Day 7 - Jerusalem

 
Join together with the three major religions of the world in the old City of Jerusalem
Old City Tour

Tour the old city and its many quarters: the Armenian, Jewish, Arab, and Christian quarters. Visit the Cardo, Herodian Quarter and the Western Wall. Talk a tour of the Davidson Center and the Southern wall excavations.
Travel along the Via Delorosa and visit the Church of the Holy Seplucher. Go to the top of Mount Scopus and the Mount of Olives to get a spectacular view of the Old City.
This can be done with wonderful tour guides who really know the history and beauty of Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8 - Jerusalem

 
Modern day Israel

Visit Yad Vashem, the memorial museum to the Holocaust, which has just been renovated and reopened. Visit the Garden of the Righteous where children ask their parents why are their so few trees. From Yad Vashem travel to the Israel Museum where the Shiren of the book houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. Go up the hill, and visit the Knesset Israel's Parliment, also see the Supreme Court which is a very modern structure.Go to Hadassah Hospital at Ein Keren and view the magnificient Chagall stain glass windows. Overnight in Jerusalem


Day 9 - Masada

 
Drive back into history

Drive south from Jerusalem towards the Dead Sea which is the lowest point believed on this earth.On your way you will stop at Massada where you will travel by cable car your climb the roman ramps to the top. This is an ancient fortress where the Jews made their last stand before committing suicide rather than fall into the hands of the Romans in 73AD.
Visit Qumran to visit the site of where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found . Overnight Jerusalem


Day 10 - Tel Aviv

 

Return to the Airport in Tel Aviv for your flight back to the United States. This will be the end of this amazing trip.
