Your fascinating day in Bangkok begins at the Manohra Cruise Pier with a short cruise to Wat Arun (also known as the "Temple of Dawn") before continuing to the Royal Barge Museum to see the incredible collection of the King's personal fleet. Lunch will be served on board the boat as you cruise upstream and a bit later, you'll enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones and dainties before a stopping at Wat Pathum Khong Ka to feed the fish (a simple way of earning Buddhist merit). Toward the evening, you'll arrive at Wat Bang Na to watch the sunset and dinner will served in front of the quiet and serene temple before retiring to your cabin for your first night's sleep on the river. Once again, get an early start and make merit with the monks at Wat Bang Na and then enjoy a freshly prepared continental breakfast while cruising up the Chao Phraya River to the ancient Thai capital of Ayuthaya (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Upon your arrival, a light Italian luncheon of pasta and salad will be served and then you'll arrive at Wat Phananchoeng to travel by van to Ayuthaya, where you'll spend the afternoon in the company of an expert guide (and possibly ride an elephant). In the evening, take a limousine to Bang Pa In (one of the 16 districts of Ayuthaya and home to the Summer Palace) where you'll rejoin the Manohra Song and enjoy an Ayuthaya-inspired Thai dinner in front of Wat Nivet. Today you'll take a guided tour of Wat Nivat and a short walk to Bang Pa In before cruising to the Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre to see a variety of Thai houses in regional styles and learn how Thailand's rural people make handicrafts such as fern basketry, silk flowers, hand-woven silk and cotton, silk dyeing, wood carving, miniature hand-modeled dolls and traditional furniture.
