The Patagonian Chile and Argentina Tour takes you to these two countries with a visit to the most amazing sites in Patagonia: the Torres Del Paine, Perito Moreno Glacier. Trip starts in the capital of Chile, Santiago, where you will tour the city and its surroundings. You fly south to Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales to visit the Torres del Paine National Park. From here you will cross the border by road to Calafate and visit the Perito Moreno and Upsala/Onelli glaciers. From Calafate you will fly to Buenos Aires to spend a few days in this cosmopolitan city.
Take overnight flight to Santiago.
Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to your selected hotel in the heart of the city.
A journey through the main streets of the civic center of the city of Santiago, viewing the neoclassical Moneda Palace, built in the 18th century and current seat of government, the Plaza de Armas, or main square with its cathedral, the Museum of National History and the Central Post Office, all with very different architectural styles. Continue to the Parque Forestal, based on the Champs d’Elysee in Paris, the Fine Arts Museum and Santa Lucia Hill, where the city was founded in 1541. Continue to the bohemian area of Bellavista and climb San Cristobal Hill for a panoramic view of the city with the Andes Mountains in the background. The tour finishes with a visit to the handicraft village of Los Graneros del Alba (closed Mondays; an alternative is chosen). Return to your hotel.
Full day of touring around Santiago. On this day you may choose from one of the following excursions: Vina del Mar and Valparaiso; Valle Nevado; Isla Negra - Pablo Neruda Museum; Cousiño Macul and Concha y Toro wineries.

Flight to Punta Arenas
Reception at the airport. You will have some free time in Punta Arenas to explore on your own and get a meal before the long transfer north. Drive north through the vast Patagonian “Pampa” to Puerto Natales. En route we will stop at the Penguin Sanctuary/Otway Sound. Here, Magellan Penguins come to nest every year between November and March. To reach the nesting site, there is a walk of two kilometers (1.2 miles) across the coastal land to this sanctuary. Depending on the time of year, it is possible to watch the penguins up close, courting and caring for their young. Continue to Puerto Natales. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Following a three-hour drive, arrive at the Torres del Paine National Park which was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978. The park covers an area of 160,000 hectares. It has many impressive lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and a varied flora and fauna which makes this one of the most popular places in Chile to visit. Lunch is in a restaurant in the park itself. Transfer to Hosteria in the park in the late afternoon.
Day of leisure in Torres del Paine. Optional excursions available at the Hosteria. Overnight in Torres del Paine.
Transfer to Calafate. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Overland trip to Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the world’s largest active continental glaciers, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO because of its breathtaking beauty and its unusual behavior. A boat excursion to the face of the glacier is included to get an up-close and personal perspective of this immense gift from Mother Nature. Optional mini-trekking excursion for outdoor enthusiasts (additional $55 per person).
Departure from the hotel toward Puerto Bandera, 50 kilometers (31 miles) away from the town, to board a catamaran to enjoy a full-day lake excursion to Upsala Glacier and Onelli Bay, cruising among hundreds of icebergs that have broken off the glaciers. Upsala is the largest continental glacier in the Southern Hemisphere. The height of its walls varies between 60 to 80 meters (196 to 262 feet), and it has an area of 595 square kilometers (229 square miles). Return to El Calafate.
Transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Tour of Buenos Aires an impressive city that combines the atmosphere of an old European town with the features of a Latin American capital. On this tour, you will come to appreciate its characteristics, its history, its architecture, its culture and its best stories. We will visit the center of the city, San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero and Palermo, with stops in Plaza de Mayo, Caminito and La Recoleta.
At night, you will be treated to an unforgettable tango show performed by the best dancers and singers, while enjoying a delicious meal. This is the perfect way to leave Buenos Aires, the city of tango. Return to the hotel.
Full-day excursion to an estancia for a typical barbeque lunch and a folklore/gaucho show. Here we will learn about the customs of the Argentinean gaucho and his abilities on the horse that will leave you breathless. The meat will be cooked “a lo gaucho” outdoors on the barbeque. Lunch and drinks included. Afternoon, return to Buenos Aires. Duration: 6 hours.
Morning of leisure to enjoy Buenos Aires. Evening, transfer to the airport or choose from other extensions in Argentina (Iguazu, Salta) or in Brazil.
