In the late 1880s, millionaire visionary Henry Flagler transformed the city into an exclusive resort for wealthy northern families seeking an escape from cold winters. Flagler's magnificent hotels remain as symbols of that by-gone era.

Here, you’ll find an array of handmade mats, hats, and baskets along with fabrics, jewelry, woodcarvings, and guava jellies. Of course, half the fun of shopping here is in the bargaining. The Straw Market is on downtown Bay Street, a block east of the British Colonial Hotel.
